Life can be sweet in Germany! The afternoon snack consists of cakes and pies served with lots of coffee and whipped cream. Hard to resist!!!
Flashes Of Germany
Interesting pictures about the daily life in Germany.
Externsteine is a rock formation not far from Detmold. It’s a nice place to visit and take pictures.
Germans love decorating their houses and their windows ende up looking like vitrines. Some are more discreet, some might get a bit carried away, but they all look interesting.
It’s hunting season and the ones who enjoy wild meat can take advantage of it. I’m not a vegetarian, but I’m not into wild meat. I still prefer to stick to what is very “basic” such as beef, chicken and pork. Maybe that’s why I was a bit shocked to see these animals hanging at the Farmer’s Market in Münster yesterday.
Doesn’t it look great?!
“Wow! Look at that!”, “How interesting!”. That seemed to be everybody’s reaction yesterday close to the cathedral in Paderborn. Even priests and nuns were attracted by the novelty. The ones who had smartphones (the great majority) set their cameras to take pictures. I also couldn’t resist! It’s a closed motorcycle with comfortable seats for two and a BMW motor which could reach up to 250 km/h. According to their webpage (www.monotracer.com) the electric model called eTracer has a motor which could reach 330 km/h but unfortunately we still haven’t got tires which could cope with it. Well, for the ones who are interested in acquiring one, the price without extras and taxes is US$ 110,000.00. Isn’t it a bargain? 😉
This advertisement for men’s underwear called my attention in Lippstadt last week. Besides being funny, it shows not everyone looks as “perfect” and “fit” as the models hired for such campaigns. And what’s perfect nowadays? Isn’t Photoshop commonplace?
Good to see that such a company decided to show a bit of real life. 😉
States in Germany don’t have summer holidays at the same time to avoid traffic jams and chaos at airports.
In North Rhine-Westphalia school holidays started last Friday with the perfect weather. I guess this class decided to make the most of the last sunny school day and go on a field trip.
Germans need order, they put lots of effort into making things look perfect. Spring and Summer are the seasons to show color and care everywhere, the streets, the houses and their window boxes and even the cemeteries.
