I was driving back home from work today when the radio started playing Adele’s song Someone Like You. I like her voice no matter the song and at that moment some Brazilian singers, whose voices are also breathtaking, came to my mind. Music has no border and the language is, in my opinion, no obstacle to enjoying a song. Here are some Brazilian “Adeles”:

It’s a pity they hardly ever play Brazilian music here, except for Sergio Mendes (Mas Que Nada) or Vanessa da Mata (Boa Sorte). I guess lots don’t have an idea how rich Brazilian music is. But what else to expect from such a multiracial country, right? Some of the Brazilian musical styles are internationally known such as Samba, Bossa Nova, MPB (Brazilian Pop Music) and Lambada, but there’s much, much more to it.
