When in Nuremberg, don’t miss the Nazi party rally grounds, a huge area where you can feel inside history. Nuremberg was the setting for huge Nazi party rallies in the 30′s. There you can still see the Zeppelin Field and even go up Hitler’s tribune; the Congress Hall, a huge U-shaped building, which facade was inspired by the Colosseum in Rome; and the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds, an extremely interesting museum where you can learn about the Second World War from scratch, from how Hitler created such a powerful image to the end of the war and the following Nuremberg Trials. At the museum you get an audio guide and you can take your time going around the exhibition (Fascination And Terror) at your own pace. If you’re into history, allot at least a whole morning just for the exhibition. The imposing buildings also show how Hitler used architecture as part of his strategy to gain power. Definitely a highlight in Nuremberg!
